A Home Within...

Coming Home to myself looks totally different then coming home to yourself because we are beautifully unique and different individuals— though this feeling of home, I imagine to feel similarly inside everyones heart. A feeling of overflowing fullness that stretches out from the heart to the hands, spreads like rapid fire through the belly and throughout the body.

What does it mean to live from your heart, and to follow your spirit? How is it possible when the mind sets up so many barriers of fear, doubt, and worry? It is possible only in complete stillness when we allow everything, just as it is. Everything is welcome, and when we welcome everything, it can pass through us.

Arriving home is not an external destination, it is a moment to moment practice of finding comfort and solace in your own being, right here in this moment.

No matter how comfortable or uncomfortable, sick or healthy, happy or unhappy, we can find a seat in the home of our sacred being. Only you have the key, and only you have the knowing of how to get there. It cannot be bought, sold or traded- it can only be witnessed- without doing anything- meaning it is absolutely free. In fact we can experience it in this very moment.

I've travelled across the world, and have found I feel more at ease in Nepal than my home country. It could be an energetic interaction between myself and the land and collective community that feels more in alignment. Inevitably, it is within myself. Though our environment undoubtable does set the tone for our internal environment and can either support or hinder our personal growth. If we wish to change internally, we also must look at our external environment. If we wish for peace of mind, look around and observe what is around you- the air flow and quality, the light, the noises, the smells, your physical comfort, the material of your room is constructed from (concrete, stone, wood etc.) Everything around us is energy, and has an effect on our mind and body.

We are sensorial beings. We experience the world through our 5 senses of smell, taste, touch, sight, and hearing. If you could envision a place that makes your body and mind feel completely at home, at ease, and at peace… What would that home look like, feel like, taste like, smell like, sound like? If we can envision it, we can manifest it whether or not in the physical material world, we can without cost and immediately from within ourselves.

And in a second it is again gone. Nothing is permanent, and that is the nature of life. We work hard to build our comfortable home externally, and internally, and within an instant it can change. So how do we cope? We build, we work hard, and we let go, and we continue to keep out hearts open. Tomorrow, our internal and external home might look different. The art is in finding our ease, moment to moment, while at the same time letting go. If we hold on to yesterdays version of home, we might never experience the gift of what our present moment has to offer. To let go of striving, and let life fill us with this moment. not everything is within our control.
